"Good evening! I'm reaching out to you on behalf of the Morey Middle School student voice team who would like some support and collaboration with your organization for a Social Justice Block Party on May 23rd. We are putting together an experience on May 23rd to encourage our students (and staff!!) to critically consider important social justice issues in our community and make some plans of action. The day will also have opportunities for our children to explore social justice and community strengths and needs through spoken word, art, music, volunteerism, activism, and inclusion. What can really make the day phenomenal is an opportunity to interact with organizations like yours to promote our community's critical thinking in how we can support positive change around us. Our kids are very very curious and many of them are looking for ways to be involved in community initiatives, engage in equity work, and explore summer and after school programs rooted in social justice. What we specifically request from your organization is presence on our campus on part of the day and engaging with our kids on how they can be involved with your organization. Ideally this means setting up an info table/booth for part of the day, though of course we welcome you to be with us for the entirety of our Block Party. Please respond if you are interested in such collaboration with Morey; one or more of my student or staff leaders asked me to specifically reach out to your organization as they have worked with you in the past or really want to!!"
