What to Expect: Host DUG's Community Composter Booth at the City of Aurora's WaterWise event. Join Aurora Water Conservation and water professionals from across the region for a celebration of all things water-wise! Enjoy our beautiful garden, grab a free breakfast burrito, connect with local water-wise gardening and irrigation professionals at booths, and catch engaging talks from knowledgeable speakers. Whether you’re a water nerd or just water-curious, this is a morning you won’t want to miss!
**Meet at the Aurora Waterwise site at 8:00am to unload up tabling materials and help set-up the tabling booth.
Event takes place from 8:30am-12pm. Prepare to be on location to start set-up at 8am.
TASKS:
- Set-up tent + table + 2 chairs + 2 sandbags
- Organize literature folder and display all compost info materials
- Care for DUG's Compost briefcase display - Worms + Compost (be cautious to set these out if windy!)
- Share info about the demo worm bin - how to compost with worms at home, school, or work!
- DUG outreach - how to join a garden, Aurora garden network, volunteer opportunities
What to Bring: Your personal water bottle, snacks and anything you need to be comfortable at the event. Remember sun protection. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing as this is a fully outdoor event.
At the end of your shift, you'll help DUG take down the booth, and load up all our tabling gear. Shift will conclude at 12:30pm.
