Come put your hands (and feet!) to work at Rose Roots Community Garden in Arvada as we bring the finishing touches to our barefoot sensory path, an experience designed to connect visitors with nature through texture, movement, and exploration.
In this 3-hour volunteer event, you'll help transform a 15x15 plot into a completed sensory pathway that community members of all ages can enjoy for years to come. Volunteers will pitch in across a variety of tasks, including planting along the path, laying materials (sand, brick, stones, lawn cover), painting & arranging decorative rocks, and spreading mulch throughout the space.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just looking for a meaningful way to spend a morning, there's a role for every skill level and energy level.
Please wear closed-toe shoes, dress for the outdoors, and come ready to move — some tasks involve lifting and hauling heavier materials. Gloves and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. We'll also have some snacks, like fig bars and fruit rolls!
There is a port-a-potty on site, and potable water from the spigots, but we recommend coming prepared with a full water bottle!
