Join DUG’s educational team to support our Learn To Compost workshop in the Composting series. The workshop begins promptly at 5:30pm, but please arrive 45 min early at 4:45pm to assist with set up. This workshop will be held at the Gove Community Garden.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Tool set up/clean up
- Checking in attendees & gate access for parking
- Photography
- Supporting compost instructors with hands-on activities
- Weeding and site preparation
- Tabling and outreach - sharing Denver Compost Cart Collection info
You will also have the opportunity to sit in during the workshop and learn the content while offering your support. Once the workshop concludes, you will support with clean up and any "check out" processes. Clean up/check should take 30 minutes, and your volunteer shift will end by 8:00pm.
Be prepared to work outdoors, wear closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing. We'll be working with straw/hay, leaves, plant material, and unfinished compost. Some light lifting and physical work may be involved. There is no potable water or restrooms on site!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Denver Urban Gardens!
