Volunteer: Service Day @ Hinkley High School Community GardenWelcome to the Hinkley High School Community Garden's 2026 season! We are located just off Chambers Rd., between 6th Ave and Colfax. Free parking is available along the street, but not in front of the apartment building next to the garden. RTD bus route 153 also stops next to the garden. Each workday will have its own unique focus, but common workday tasks will involve: weeding and maintaining common areas and common production plots for food donation, moving compost or mulch, organizing or cleaning up the tool shed, improving our watering systems for aid in water conservation efforts, and general garden cleanup. We will often have multiple garden stewards at each workday, and usually have smaller groups working on different goals throughout the workday. We like to offer cool drinks, snacks, sunscreen, and can loan out garden gloves, but we encourage volunteers to bring their favorite gloves, hats, and whatever they need to be comfortable while working. Our garden has some limited shaded seating under the pergola, but is otherwise very sunny! Finally, our garden does not have a bathroom on site. Please plan accordingly, and we understand if you may need to step out from time to time during workdays because of this. Please reach out to us at HinkleyHighSchoolCommunityGarden@dug.org to contact the garden stewards, and we hope to see you soon!
