Bring a reusable water bottle! DUG will provide all of the needed tools/materials, as well as light snacks and a water jug. Please arrive with ample time to find parking and check in, we will begin orientation promptly at 9:00am.

Another busy day of harvesting, clearing weeds, and general maintenance at Johnson School Community Garden!

We will be laying gravel and raising garden beds by adding lumbar on all four sides. Wear layers as we're approaching those fall days, but the sun might be out! Bring water, snacks, etc. There's no bathrooms onsite, but we're around many residences willing to share, or businesses nearby!

Join DUG’s educational team for hands-on support at Learn To Compost, a part of the Composting series. The workshop begins promptly at 9:00am, but please arrive 45 minutes early at 8:15am to assist with set up.

Please note the workshop will be held at the Gove Community Garden.

Your responsibilities may include:

You will also have the opportunity to sit in during the workshop and learn the content while offering your support. Once the workshop is concluded at 11am, you will support with clean up and any "check out" processes. Clean up/check out should take 30 minutes, and your volunteer shift will end at 11:30am. Please note the workshop will be held at the Gove Community Garden.

Sadly it is getting colder outside and it is getting to that time of the year where we must put our garden to bed for the winter.

We need bodies to help us:

Harvest any goodies left in the garden

Move plant material to the compost area

Remove tomato cages and other plant supports into their winter home.

Please note that this is an outdoor activity so please dress accordingly for the weather.

We will have some water and light snacks available but please bring additional snacks for your nutritional needs.

We will be installing new garden borders around 5 large garden plots. We will need help with the removal, preparation/leveling of the ground, and installation of the wood borders. We will also do some light weeding around the walkways and begin to remove spent vegetable plants.

We are located at 755 Fulton St, Aurora, CO 80010. There is ample parking along the pickleball courts and along the front of Fulton Park. There is street parking available as well if needed.

*Note- there is no restroom available on site, so please plan accordingly! We are looking forward to working with you

Our regularly scheduled workdays at Hinkley High School Community Garden. These events are for gardeners and interested volunteers to help out in common projects and improvements, contribute towards regular upkeep and maintenance like weeding and repairs, and to get together with your fellow gardeners!

Most community workdays will have specific projects we can all work on. These projects will be communicated ahead of time per-event, but you can always reach out to garden leaders by email [ hinkleyhighschoolcommunitygarden@dug.org ] to ask for details.

For each workday, consider bringing gloves, a hat, comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and definitely ways to stay hydrated! We strongly encourage you bring your reusable water bottle or mug to help cut down on waste.

Your chance to volunteer at the beautiful Fairmont DCIS Community Garden! We are a community garden on the grounds of the Fairmont DCIS campus with over 20 community garden plots and dedicated schoolside garden plots. In 2025, DUG recently installed a beautiful therapeutic sensor garden for the students. Please come and help us take care of this community resource!

Our workdays on weekends this season are:

June 7th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am

July 19th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am

August 16th from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

September 13th from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

October 4th from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

We are able to provide gloves and tools needed to volunteer. Please bring your own sunscreen and water. There are not on-site restrooms but a public restroom is available at La Familia Recreation Center a few blocks away. Please email fairmontdciscommunitygarden@dug.org if you have questions.

We will be preparing to close out our growing season. We will be clearing out unused/overgrown beds, pulling weeds, organizing the shed, picking up trash, and leveling out pathways.

Please park in the front of the building. On the lefthand side of the school, you will see a big chalkboard sign and a fence that leads you around the playgrounds to the garden.

There will be no water or bathroom accessibility. Gloves are provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own!

Once the workshop is concluded at 11am, you will support with clean up and any "check out" processes. Clean up/check should take 45 minutes, and your volunteer shift will end at 11:45am. Please note the workshop will be held at the Posner Center for International Development.

Every fourth Sunday, we hit the garden to tackle planned tasks that benefit the garden as a whole. Sometimes we have a specific project, and sometimes we pull weeds and turn the compost piles. We work at those planned goals for two hours and then often break to take care of our own plots and/or socialize.

Many hands make light work, so all are welcome to join us. Bring your family and friends!

Join DUG’s educational team for hands-on support at Mushroom Pumpkins, a part of the Growing Mushrooms series. The workshop begins promptly at 6:00pm, but please arrive an hour early at 5:00pm to assist with set up.

Come spread woodchip mulch and clean up the food forest at 48th and Julian to prepare for the winter! Mulch helps the soil retain water while suppressing weeds, keeping our fledgling fruit trees and bushes healthy. Tasks may also include weeding, digging, and other physical tasks. 

Please wear:

This is our Fall Cleanup day, we will be putting the garden to bed and preparing for next Spring.
