Join DUG’s educational team for hands-on support at Learn To Compost, a part of the Composting series. The workshop begins promptly at 9:00am, but please arrive 45 minutes early at 8:15am to assist with set up.

Please note the workshop will be held at the Gove Community Garden.

Your responsibilities may include:

You will also have the opportunity to sit in during the workshop and learn the content while offering your support. Once the workshop is concluded at 11am, you will support with clean up and any "check out" processes. Clean up/check out should take 30 minutes, and your volunteer shift will end at 11:30am. Please note the workshop will be held at the Gove Community Garden.

Enjoy time outdoors with community while helping clean up this garden space! We will clear garden beds, plant cover crop seed, and prepare the garden for the off season! 

This activity will require moderate physical effort and breaks are encouraged! This garden does not have a covered structure nor bathrooms on site.

Hello volunteers we need help removing weeds and dead plants from the Community areas. Gardeners may need assistance cleaning out their gardens. Please bring water, gloves, a hat and wear layers. There are no bathrooms on site. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

We are located at 555 Alton Way. Across from Lowry Community College of Aurora. We are one block west of Dayton on Lowry Blvd. The garden is on the south east corner of Lowry Blvd and Alton Way next to the Lowry Renaissance apts.

We will supply the tools and wheelbarrows for the project. Thank you in advance for helping with our end of season cleanup.

Every fourth Sunday, we hit the garden to tackle planned tasks that benefit the garden as a whole. Sometimes we have a specific project, and sometimes we pull weeds and turn the compost piles. We work at those planned goals for two hours and then often break to take care of our own plots and/or socialize.

Many hands make light work, so all are welcome to join us. Bring your family and friends!

Help DUG prepare for our biggest event of the year - our Gather 'Round Gala! Volunteers will support with event setup and staging including setting up tables, our auction and other event-related tasks.

Please wear comfortable shoes and a water bottle. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Once the workshop is concluded at 12:00 PM, you will support with clean up and any "check out" processes. Clean up/check should take about 1 hour, and your volunteer shift will end 1:00 PM.

Garden Closing Workday at Stober Community Garden

Saturday, October 4th, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. MST

Come and get your hands dirty and enjoy the outdoors helping at the Stober Community Garden!

Tasks include cleaning up plots, planting cover crops, and getting the garden ready for winter. 

Please wear closed-toed shoes, clothes you don't mind getting dirty, sunscreen, a hat and bring gloves and water in your own water bottle.  We will have extra water on site and we will provide brunch refreshments near the end of the workday.  Please bring any garden rakes, shovels, and weeders you may have.  We will have blue tape and markers for you to put your initials on your tools so they don't get lost in the shuffle.

Your chance to volunteer at the beautiful Fairmont DCIS Community Garden! We are a community garden on the grounds of the Fairmont DCIS campus with over 20 community garden plots and dedicated schoolside garden plots. In 2025, DUG recently installed a beautiful therapeutic sensor garden for the students. Please come and help us take care of this community resource!

Our workdays on weekends this season are:

June 7th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am

July 19th from 9:30 am - 11:30 am

August 16th from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

September 13th from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

October 4th from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

We are able to provide gloves and tools needed to volunteer. Please bring your own sunscreen and water. There are not on-site restrooms but a public restroom is available at La Familia Recreation Center a few blocks away. Please email fairmontdciscommunitygarden@dug.org if you have questions.

Our regularly scheduled workdays at Hinkley High School Community Garden. These events are for gardeners and interested volunteers to help out in common projects and improvements, contribute towards regular upkeep and maintenance like weeding and repairs, and to get together with your fellow gardeners!

Most community workdays will have specific projects we can all work on. These projects will be communicated ahead of time per-event, but you can always reach out to garden leaders by email [ hinkleyhighschoolcommunitygarden@dug.org ] to ask for details.

For each workday, consider bringing gloves, a hat, comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and definitely ways to stay hydrated! We strongly encourage you bring your reusable water bottle or mug to help cut down on waste.

Another busy day of harvesting, clearing weeds, and general maintenance at Johnson School Community Garden!

We would love to have as many volunteers as would like to come to our sweet little Garden at Applewood Community garden ! You will need to bring gloves, a water bottle and $5 each if you would like to stay and have pizza afterwards and socialize with Gardeners. We will be doing general garden maintenance

This is our final cleanup for the season. Wear comfortable work clothes and bring gloves. There are no bathrooms available on site. Water and snacks will be provided!

Parking is available in the school lot. The garden is around the back through the gate by the fall field.

Join us for a morning of MULCHING! 

Help us begin our end of season preparation by buidling up the mulch layer in our food forest! We will also be expanding some of the garden beds for future plantings. All tools will be provided. Street parking is available.

We will be replacing wood borders around 6 plots, reinforcing the corners around all beds with corner brackets, and adding number tags to the large plots

Location and/or Parking NotesWe are located at 755 Fulton St, Aurora, CO 80010. There is ample parking along the pickleball courts and along the front of Fulton Park. There is street parking available as well if needed. There is a port-a-potty on site for your convenience.

This vibrant space is home to gardeners from all walks of life, and we need helping hands to care for pathways, tend pollinator plants, and support seasonal projects. Whether you have a green thumb or love being outside, your time makes a real difference in this diverse, welcoming space. Dig in, connect with the earth, and grow something great.

It’s fall, which means it’s time to mulch our food forest! We will have loads of wood chips and will be using wheelbarrows, pitchforks, shovels and rakes to mulch the food forest and help with weed suppression and water retention at the site.

If you have gloves, please bring them, along with a water bottle, sunscreen, and layers (we tend to warm up fast once we get moving).

The food forest is located on the north side of the playground; you can park in the parking lot off of 3rd and Elati.
